The Department of Government Services is seeking 2 Supply Chain Managers to join the Strategic Procurement Branch within the Business Development and Innovation Division in the Fredericton office.
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Procurement, the successful candidates will be responsible for creating and managing a wide range of complex and leading-edge procurement projects as well as implementing and managing procurement strategies. Work will include collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize procurement. This may include developing and executing a procurement plan to achieve spending reduction targets; working closely with departmental subject matter experts to determine best value on a variety of goods and services; negotiating high value contracts within an assigned portfolio; and researching best practices in strategic sourcing and public procurement.
In addition, the successful candidates will be responsible for key areas such as:
- Category Management: Leading strategic procurement projects to drive value and achieve cost savings that will span the full procurement lifecycle.
- Contract Life Cycle: Providing professional and practical support in identifying the financial risks and business exposure throughout the lifetime of the contract spend.
- Business Case Development: Efficiently identifying and providing the rationale for the business case for a procurement opportunity within a category.
- Vendor-Client Relationship Management: Working with the client departments, and other government organizations to develop and support effective working relationships and resolve contract performance issues between clients and vendors with key accounts.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Pay Band 6: University degree in Business Administration or related field, and a minimum of six (6) years progressively responsible related work experience.
Pay Band 5: University degree in Business Administration or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years progressively responsible related work experience.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required for one position; Written and spoken competence in French and English is required for the other position. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate:
- Purchasing Designation(s) (CPPB, PSPP, SCMP)
- Professional Accounting Designation
- Lean/Six Sigma Certification
- PMP Certificate
- Experience in Strategic Sourcing (goods and services)
- Experience in Spend Analytics
- Experience in IT Procurement
- Moderate Technical Understanding of the IT- sector
- Experience with sourcing Professional Services
- Experience in interacting in a cross-organizational environment with various levels of management.

The following operational requirement may also be required: varying hours and occasional travel.

Salary:
Pay Band 5 - $53,274 - $74,360 Annually
Pay Band 6 - $61,854-$82,316 Annually
