Kings Landing Corporation is seeking an individual to join the Visitor Experience team as a Student Site Interpreter.  The work term is from June 8th to September 2nd, 2019 with a training term to be held between May 29th and June 6th, 2019.

Reporting to one of the Household Supervisor(s), Trades Supervisor or Agricultural Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible to augment the guest experience by providing an engaging and positive experience to visitors. They will be responsible for assisting in the daily interpretation in the Village and for performing tasks related to their character's family story and workstation. They will also support the overall interpretation through participation in vignettes and various programmed activities throughout the Village.

The position requires an individual that is able to interpret a role in the first person, can communicate effectively with coworkers and guests, and that possesses the ability to carefully follow direction. It also requires the ability to complete scheduled tasks while communicating story objectives to visitors of all ages.


  • Currently a high school or postsecondary student;
  • Must be eligible for the Young Canada Works program.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:  Preference may be given to candidates that possess:

  • Previous employment at a history museum or similar public institution performing similar tasks;
  • Previous theatre related experience;
  • 19th century musical abilities or farming experience.

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

The following operational requirements are also required: 

  • Working on weekends;
  • Wearing the assigned costume.

SALARY:   $11.50 to $13.87 per hour (based on qualifications)
