The Office of Strategy Management (OSM), within the Executive Council Office, is responsible for developing the principles, methods and tools by which public service leaders can enhance alignment and execution of strategic priorities, drive improvement results and build a sustainable high-performance culture.
The GNB Priority Portfolio Lead, reporting to the Executive Director of Organizational Improvement, is responsible to lead a team of three Senior Project Advisors in optimizing the delivery of the GNB Priority Initiative Portfolios comprised of the Top 6 Priority Areas. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Consulting with Priority portfolio partners to implement effective initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/control and close out across projects and initiatives within the Top 6 Priorities
- Evaluating GNB Priority Portfolio progress toward results
- Proactively addressing and/or escalating concerns and providing recommendations for action
- Ensuring initiative and project risks are being assessed and mitigated
- Identifying interdependencies across Portfolios (stakeholders, risks, resources, etc)
- Coaching, supporting and providing training to Department Alignment Champions and Project Executives in GNB Initiative Management and Project Management processes and best practices
- Partnering with colleagues in continuous improvement and priority management to deliver comprehensive approaches ensuring strategic alignment and evidence-based problem solving.
The GNB Priority Portfolio Lead will have strong personal drive and a track record of meeting and exceeding results and be well respected by their high-performance team. They also must be an innovative thinker, developing, learning and applying new and creative concepts combined with demonstrated ability to manage project portfolios through disciplined execution.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates must have a university degree.
- Eight years of progressively responsible work experience including five or more years of experience successfully managing multiple projects/initiatives
- GNB recognized Project Management certification
- Equivalencies may be considered
Written and spoken competence in English is required.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that have experience with coaching, training and group facilitation and/or:
- Portfolio Management certification
- GNB recognized Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt or Greenbelt certification
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications to be given further consideration.

Salary: $3,615.00 to $4,071.00 bi-weekly
