Placement Description: Opportunity for a Business Student to obtain experience and exposure to a variety of financial roles within the organization.
Service New Brunswick is a large organization which provides centralized services to GNB departments and agencies. Given the large scope of the services which are provided, there is a broad range of financial transactions and processes. The intern selected will gain exposure to areas under Financial Services, Capital & Revenue, and Internal Audit. The intern will be mentored by an experienced employee under each of these units and will also be supported by the overall team. SNB hopes to allow for the intern to gain exposure and make connections with a variety of teams within the organization. The intern will have the opportunity to participate and learn the roles of financial analysts, internal auditors, and revenue processors. They will gain hands on experience with the Financial Systems used at Service New Brunswick and gain an insight into accounting procedures. They will also have the opportunity to participate in meetings, presentations, and projects. The intern would also have the opportunity to assist the team in developing/streamlining processes and documenting procedures in collaboration with the team.
Qualifications: English minimum. English & French preferred. Enrolled in Bachelor of Business Administration / MBA. Interest in accounting, finance, and process improvement.
Skills/Highlights: Intermediate/advanced excel skills, previous exposure to financial systems, and interest in process improvement.
