Parlee Beach Provincial Park

Who we are

We invite you to one of the most beautiful beaches in North America with the warmest salt water in Canada, Parlee Beach also holds international Blue Flag certification. The campground is located on a well-developed ground with over 210 sites.

What you will do

The job consists of supervising the casual teams of the Parlee Beach Provincial Park responsible for the maintenance of the grounds including lawn, waste management and maintenance.

As a member of the Parlee Beach Provincial Park team, the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the grounds of Parlee Beach Provincial Park. The duties and responsibilities include:

  • Supervising students/casual staff
      • conducting interviews
      • assigning work
      • providing instruction on work duties
  • Maintaining, planting and landscaping grounds
      • grooming the beach, plow snowing, mowing lawns
      • prepare soil/select flowers for flower beds
      • reading landscape plans
  • Operating and maintaining tools and equipment (truck, tractor, mowers)
  • Transporting material to job site (ladders and supplies)
  • Interacting with guests

Work Environment

  • Working evenings, weekends, holidays and variable hours
  • We promote a scent-reduced environment

Who you are

You are someone who has concern for order but can also be flexible. You have great communication skills as well as great leadership skills. You have experience working with the public.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have

  • A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience including one (1) year of supervisory experience
  • Experience in grounds and equipment maintenance, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of the NB Parks online reservation service system

Wage

$24.29 per hour
