Service New Brunswick is seeking individuals to join the Strategic Procurement Branch in the Strategic Procurement and Corporate Services Division as a Category Manager in Moncton, Fredericton, or Saint John areas.

As a member of the Strategic Procurement team, you will be responsible for the development and execution of the category sourcing plan that delivers targeted outcomes such as savings, process improvements, new technologies and increased patient outcomes. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 

  • Ensuring that incoming RFx initiatives are assessed, assigned, and addressed by the appropriate team members based upon the complexity and value of the initiative
  • Managing a team to successfully identify and execute RFx strategies, meet business needs, strategize and manage contracts within procurement laws including the New Brunswick Procurement Act, and process transactional procurement.
  • Interacting with key stakeholders

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess a University Degree or an equivalent in Business Administration and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience of which 2 are at the management or strategic level.  Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Project Management experience
  • Facilitation, negotiation, conflict management, financial and problem-solving experience
  • Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA) certification or equivalent
  • Understanding of health industry and marketplace

Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The following operational requirements are also required:

  • Frequent travel throughout the province is required, and you must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Candidates will be required to undergo Criminal History Clearance prior to appointment

Salary: $71, 812 to $95,550 annually - Pay Band 6 - Management Non-Union pay plan.
