The Digital Learning and Design branch is seeking a Learning Specialist for Distance Learning. This branch strives to support meaningful applications of technology in both teaching and learning. Promoting digital literacy, educational technology, and virtual learning, we work to improve outcomes through the creative application of technology.
The Role:
Reporting to the Director of Digital Learning and Design, the successful candidate will oversee the delivery of the New Brunswick Virtual Learning Centre distance program of high school courses. These courses are delivered by online teachers to students across all districts, and to outside partners including schools in Prince Edward Island and with Atlantic Education International.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Coordinate NBVLC distance learning program.
- Administer the NBVLC summer learning program for students.
- Provide coaching, feedback, technical and other support to online teachers, including monitoring of professional growth plans.
- Develop, provide, and coordinate professional learning options for online teachers.
- Liaise with schools and other users of the program to improve outcomes and program delivery.
- Promote program to schools and partners.
- Develop course schedules and gather suggestions for new course offerings.
- Collect and process data and KPIs to share with system.
- Track information necessary for the creation of invoices to external partners.
- Consult with partner sites on program implementation and changes.
- Manage correspondence to the program and provide information to end users across several channels (e.g., email, website, presentations, etc.).
- Possess and develop technical knowledge necessary to support delivery of program (e.g., creating accounts, Microsoft Excel).
- Participate in process improvement processes and oversee their implementation.
- Understanding of educational policies and procedures (e.g., graduation requirements, copywrite).
- Contribute to initiatives and activities of the branch and the department.

Need to have:
- Master's degree in Education, or a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of public-school teaching experience. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated effective relationship management with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- A thorough knowledge of and experience with Learning Management Systems ¿ especially D2L Brightspace.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

Nice to have:
- Leadership and/or team management experience.
- Technical skills for communication, data management and planning (e.g., Excel).
- Attention to detail, ability to learn and apply technical skills.

Wage
Pay Band 7: $86,112 - $104,182 annually.
Work environment:
- Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton.
- A hybrid work arrangement within New Brunswick could be considered.
- Some travel across the province may be required.
- Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30.
