The Department of Health is seeking an individual to join the Medicare and Physician Services Branch as a Service Provider Registrar in Fredericton.

As a member of the Salaried Physician Services and Alternate Methods of Remuneration Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible for registering practitioners licensed to practice medicine in New Brunswick who receive payment from Medicare for such services. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible to counsel, assist and provide quality service to service providers throughout all phases of their enrollment. The position is also responsible for producing statistical reports, preparing correspondence, and liaising with various stakeholders such as the Regional Health Authorities, The New Brunswick Medical Society, The College of Physicians and Surgeons of New Brunswick, The NB Dental Society, The NB Association of Optopmetrists, The Nurses Association of NB and the Midwifery Council of NB. The successful candidate will also provide advice to other teams within the branch with regards to practitioner status and privileges.

All tasks must be performed with a high degree of accuracy. This work requires a high level of discretion in dealing with confidential information and good communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates must be able to work with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, supplemented by the successful completion of a one-year post-secondary diploma in a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability.

Salary: $42,744 to $51,922 per annum
