Finance and Treasury Board is seeking a senior manager to fill the role of Executive Director for Total Compensation and Benefits with the Office of the Chief Human Resources Officer (OCHRO).

The OCHRO is responsible for the strategic, legislative, policy framework and programs for the full scope of corporate human resources management in the Government of New Brunswick (GNB). The Total Compensation and Benefits Branch within OCHRO is responsible for providing the strategic direction and the policy, program and accountability framework for the recruitment, compensation, development, safety, wellness, collective bargaining, benefit design and administration and management of the Government of New Brunswick's (GNB) human resources.

What you will do

The Executive Director will establish and nurture effective working relationships with executive leaders across GNB, both political and administrative, and is frequently required to provide sound and candid advice to leaders on HR matters. The work environment is fast paced. It requires responsiveness and the ability to quickly process large volumes of information, to efficiently manage their workload and that of their team, and to effectively prioritize matters that demand immediate attention. The position is often presented with complex or ambiguous situations which require the ability to provide leadership that is based on values, not merely rules. This role is responsible for overseeing significant compensation, classification, employee benefits and HR analytics work for Parts I, II and III of the Public Service.

Work environment

  • Office location: 675 Kings Street, Fredericton, NB
  • Your Team: Team of over 16 employees with 5-6 direct reports
  • Opportunity for remote style work
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or a related degree/diploma and over 8 years experience leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Evidence of your strong leadership/supervisory skills built on experience
  • Ability of creative thinking in problem-solving

Nice to Have (their asset qualifications)

  • Professional designation in Human Resources (CPHR)
  • Professional designation with World at Work (Certified Compensation Professional)
  • Other related professional designations

Wage
$4,633 - $5,097 / Biweekly (Pay Band 10)
