Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Pay Band 10 Assistant Deputy Minister Agriculture Division In-Service Fredericton The Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries is seeking an experienced leader for the role of Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) within the Agriculture Division, in Fredericton. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of New Brunswick's agriculture sector. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in the stewardship, development, and promotion of agriculture in the province, advancing policies and programs that support sustainability, innovation, and economic growth. As a member of the Executive Management team, reporting directly to the Deputy Minister, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Science, Social Science, or a related discipline; a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively more responsible experience in a government or large corporate setting, including a minimum of five (5) years at the senior level with human resources and financial management responsibilities. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates that have science-based experience in environment, agriculture or natural resources sectors. OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be prepared to travel throughout New Brunswick and within and outside of Canada, as required; and work extended hours and weekends, on occasion.
