SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT IN-SERVICE COMPETITION (SECONDMENT) CENTRAL OFFICE - FREDERICTON The Department of Social Development is seeking an individual to join the Finance and Administration Branch as the Internal Audit Manager in its Central Office located in Fredericton. As a member of the Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the Internal Audit, Caseload Sampling and Telephone Case Review Unit. The unit is responsible for evaluating internal control systems and measuring their effectiveness, monitoring the continuing eligibility of the provincial social assistance caseload as well as complementing the case management process by contacting selected groups of social assistance clients via telephone to confirm the information on file. The incumbent will be responsible for supervising staff as well as the management of staff, which includes recruiting, determining training and developmental needs, resolving conflicts, setting performance objectives, evaluating performance, providing motivation and coaching. Duties also include the responsibility of planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the activities of the internal audit unit as well as the financial management and administration of the unit through policy and procedure administration and efficient utilization of resources. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:Masters degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with a recognized professional accounting designation and a minimum of five (5) years related work experience, of which three (3) years of relevant financial experience and one (1) year of direct supervisory experience in staff management is required OR a Bachelors degree in Business Administration or Public Administration with a recognized professional accounting designation and a minimum of seven (7) years related work experience, of which three (3) years of relevant financial experience and one (1) year of direct supervisory experience in staff management is required. Candidates must demonstrate experience with Microsoft Office and Windows software including Excel. Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.
